It is hard to believe that we have held a Back to School Shoe Drive four times now, but we just wrapped up our 4th event on Labor Day and it was an incredible success! While the location was different (we held it at Reese’s House this year!!), we were able to continue with our tradition of ensuring our students start the year off on the right foot!

The best part of the day? Seeing all of the smiles on the faces of our volunteers, families, and children that showed up! That alone made all of the hard work well worth it.

We filled over 100 requests for shoes and had about 50 pairs of shoes left for the community to pick from as walk-ups on the day of the event. We continued with our practice of providing brand-new shoes, which continues to be a big hit with our families. We raised about $700 to purchase shoes and spent every penny doing just that!

We also got a huge assist from the Maurice House in Millville, the employees of Old Navy in the Cumberland Mall, and a very special volunteer who made it her goal to personally sponsor and help as many families as she could!

Without the help of our generous donors and these people, we would not have been able to have such a significant impact on the youth of our community. We would like to thank every person who supported the shoe drive this year, in previous years, and who will help in the future. Everything we do is possible because of you!

Take care and be well!

Landon and Olivia, two of our youngest volunteers, were all smiles while organizing and sorting shoes!
